This is my first Contax.  It’s a pre-war Contax II from 1936.  The lens is from 1939, I believe.  I got the lens (which is quite beautiful) because of a not so good photo on ebay, the story of my life.  You win some and lose some this way, but this time I won. The weird thing is, I have this Nikon S that is a REAL beauty, but for some reason, this Contax II fits my hand better, it’s more pleasing to use.  My middle finger falls right on the focusing wheel and my index finger right on the shutter button.  Feels very natural.  I wish the Nikon S was more like this one is. Looks a little lumpy, huh?  It’s a little Zeiss bumpy.  But it still is very good to hold and use. More later on this…
