Waited 36 years for this

just happened to do a google search and found that they’ve finally released the first two B W Stevenson albums on a CD.  I’ve been waiting for years for this to happen, since the songs aren’t available anywhere and I don’t know where my old scratchy LPs are.  I found these in 1973, a pivotal year in my life, when I discovered who I was.  Now I can hear this on my Iphone and in the car.  Life is good (for awhile anyway)…

Russian Rag - The Old 78’s (via TheOld78s)

I wish I could find the Sam Bush version but this one is cool too.

BW Stevenson song, written by Michael Murphey, two of my major influences from my musical adolescence.

YouTube - gypsies B.W. Stevenson songs are hard to find these days.  This is one I really like.  I discovered him back in 1972 or 73.  About the same time I discovered Gram Parsons.

Nothin’ Hokey - 1985 on Vimeo (via Vimeo)

Tom Waits - Grapefruit Moon

Heard this the other night while driving out to pickup Kevin and really liked it. I can still find things I’ve never heard that have been out there forever. and this is really out there.
